In the sixth year of the World Internet Conference, Wuzhen has focused its attention on the emerging internet start-ups. The entries of the “Straight to Wuzhen” Global Internet Competition this year indicate that today’s internet start-up projects are focused on such fields as big data, cloud computation, internet of things, mobile internet, AI, 5G, intelligent manufacture, chips and internet +, of which AI has become the hottest field.

Among the 34 entries to the semi-final of the Global Internet Competition, programs such as video AI facial recognition system and AI smart home with international patents have staged road shows. And the majority of the final ten is focused on the fields of intelligent manufacture and 5G. Connected by 5G, the intelligent technology represented by AI and the 5G technology empower each other to become an indispensable component of intelligent economy.

In the competition this year, the Qingfeng Times 3D printer brought by Qingfeng (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. has won the championship. According to the person in charge of the project, Qingfeng 3D printer features an extremely speedy and continuous technology of 3D printer with independent intellectual property rights, which can enhance the 3D printing speed by 30-200 times.

All the time, Zhejiang has always clearly supported the development of digital economy, innovation and entrepreneurship. As early as the end of 2017, Zhejiang Provincial CPC Committee suggested taking digital economy as No. 1 project and deepening the construction of digital Zhejiang.

As the host of the World Internet Conference, Zhejiang has taken the lead in the development of internet and artificial intelligence.

In recent years, Zhejiang Provincial CPC Committee and government have attached high importance to the development of artificial intelligence, accelerated the construction of cloud-end Zhejiang, a province with a strong performance in data and network and striven to implement the No. 1 project of digital economy. Zhejiang has become the nationally first demonstration province in the deep integration of informationization and industrialization and a “national demonstration zone of information economy”, which has laid a good foundation for the development of artificial intelligence.

Moreover, during this year, Zhejiang has made constant efforts in promoting the digital economy and artificial intelligence and formed a good industrial ecology for the development of artificial intelligence. It has gathered a batch of high-tech enterprises based on AI industry. In the field of artificial intelligence, Zhejiang enterprises rank first nationwide in both quantity and quality.

In February this year, the Action Plan of Zhejiang Province on Promoting the Development of a New Generation of Artificial Intelligence(2019-2022) has been printed and circulated. According to the plan, by 2022, the artificial intelligence of Zhejiang should make a breakthrough in key fields, obviously strengthen the basic capacity, enhance the competitiveness of enterprises and basically establish a supporting system.

On October 20, Zhejiang Province and six other pilot provinces and municipalities of China were granted with a plaque of “national experimental zone of digital economy innovation and development” and officially launched the establishment of the experimental zone, aiming to form experience that can be copied and promoted, focus on building a benchmark for the innovation and development of digital economy, enhance the scale and strength of digital economy and effectively support the high-quality development.

The “Straight to Wuzhen” Global Internet Competition this year has brought leading technological fruits in the field of internet when more and more projects, technologies, talents and capital rush into Wuzhen. It will also bring more opportunities and challenges to the digital economy development of Zhejiang. Zhejiang will continue to deepen its exploration in artificial intelligence and pursue a brighter future of internet.
