An opening ceremony was held for the Hangzhou Institute of Artificial Intelligence, which was jointly established by the Hangzhou Science and Technology Bureau and Zhejiang University on July 2.

Hangzhou Institute of Artificial Intelligence is the core carrier for Hangzhou to build a national new-generation artificial intelligence innovation and development pilot zone. In the future, it will mainly aim at three major themes, namely, technological innovation, industrial cultivation, and integration and application, so as to support the construction of the pilot zone.

Hangzhou has established an artificial intelligence industry statistical system since October 17, 2019. In 2019, there were 212 artificial intelligence enterprises in Hangzhou that were included in the provincial statistics, with an operating income of 115.769 billion yuan, an increase of 16.96% over the previous year.

Hangzhou will make full use of the strength of think tanks and clarify the main research direction, strengthening the construction of artificial intelligence platform systems and ecological circles.
