Pan Junjie's life was full of misfortune: his mother died when he was 7 and later he was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 8. It took him 16 years to finish school that requires 12 years for normal students to complete.

Despite all these misfortunes, Pan is loved and cared for. More than 10 years ago, thousands of people in Zhejiang Province raised more than 400,000 yuan to help him complete bone marrow transplantation and postoperative recovery treatment.

"My younger brother has a gift to study. He used to be the top student at school. Later, however, he was ill and his academic studies were delayed. He could only learn for half a day, and the gap between him and other students gradually grew bigger," his sister Pan Juya said. Nevertheless, Pan still won first place in the computer test in the first year of high school, and he also won a certificate.

Pan is strong-minded and independent. He tries to walk by himself at school rather than carried by his father or supported by his classmates. He doesn't like to bother others.

In order to treat Pan, his father once bought 4 bottles of the "Gleevec" for a price of up to 25,500 yuan. He was in despair at that time.

Later, Pan obtained free medicine from Gleevec company through the application until he started a bone marrow transplant operation. At the critical moment, the local media in Pan'an and many newspapers reported on Pan's experience, which soon aroused widespread social concern.  Thousands of people in Zhejiang have raised more than 400,000 yuan in total, helping Pan overcome these difficulties.

Pan’s father has always remembered these kindnesses, and he believed that without the help of the public, his family cannot survive. Pan also has his own dream. He wanted to go to Hangzhou or Ningbo for future studies to learn computer science and technology, making some contributions to society.
