Xianghe village, surrounded by mountains on three sides, is 33 kilometers away from Tiantai county, Zhejiang Province. With an Internet line, this remote village has gradually grown prosperity by selling agricultural products online. All of this is attributed to the villager Lin Yinmei.

It's hard to imagine that the fashionable granny was originally a cook in the canteen. Around seven years ago, Lin Yinmei followed a group of children into the Internet world. From typing, chatting online, to registering Taobao account, shopping online, Yinmei has successfully become an online shopping expert.

"Since you can buy things online, you can also sell things." At the end of 2015, a leaflet on "free e-commerce training" attracted Yinmei's attention. She did not hesitate but enrolled in two classes and became the oldest student at that time. Unexpectedly, when the classes finished, with the title of "outstanding student", Yinmei became the only person in the class who is capable to independently open WeChat official account and online Taobao store at the same time.

In early 2017, the article "Delicious Green Food – Hand-made Sweet Potato Noodles" got superheated on WeChat. The original of this "popular article" was Yinmei. She photographed the production process of sweet potato noodles by phone and distributed nearly a thousand words of copywriting, transmitted by many WeChat accounts. She also named both her online shop on Taobao and WeChat's official account "Lei Feng Agricultural Products".

Yinmei's story of opening an online shop to sell agricultural products was widely spread in the village, attracting villagers to learn from her. Some started the WeChat business under the guidance of Yinmei.

Inspired by Yinmei, in 2017, Zheng Jiangxian, chairman of the women's Federation of Leifeng Township, established a women's e-commerce service station for Party members. She invited Yinmei to be the person in charge of the service station and organized five service team members to help farmers buy and sell products.

Over the past four years, Yinmei and the volunteers have helped to sell various agricultural and sideline products, such as tea, sweet potato noodles, red persimmon, chestnut, and native eggs, benefiting more than 1,000 farmers with more than 2 million yuan. Recently, Yinmei has undertaken to make live-streaming on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok. The fashionable grandmother is trying a new way to promote her native products.
