Chinese New Year Reception held at the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Toronto

On January 17, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Toronto held a Chinese New Year reception in Richmond Hill.  Dignitaries, Chinese students, Chinese-funded institutions, and other representatives from the arts and culture gathered together to welcome the 2020 Spring Festival.

Consul General Han Tao delivered a speech at the beginning of the event. Han Tao said that since December 2018, bilateral relations have faced serious problems. In the new year, he hopes that the obstacles within the Sino-Canadian relations can be eliminated and bilateral relations can return to the correct development track.

Chinese cuisine was carefully arranged at the reception. In a warm and festive vibe, the guests exchanged greetings and took pictures with kindness. Together, they welcomed the arrival of the 2020 Spring Festival and wished China-Canada friendship and a better future.
