The "Belt and Road" Book Exhibition initiated by Zhejiang University Press attracts world attention

On May 26, the "Belt and Road" book exhibition and associated activities sponsored by Zhejiang University Press officially inaugurated in the Yiyuan Cultural Meeting Room at the Xixi Campus of Zhejiang University. 


Zhao Feng, head of China National Silk Museum, Yuan Yachun, editor-in-chief of Zhejiang University Press, and Zhang Chen, deputy editor-in-chief of Zhejiang University Press attended the opening ceremony.

Mr. Zhao made insightful remarks in his speech, saying that the China National Silk Museum has a long tradition of cooperation with Zhejiang University Press. The museum has already published a lot of books on the themes of silk and Silk Road, such as "Silks of the Silk Road", "A World of Looms: Weaving Technology and Textile Arts", "Ornamental Patterns from Ancient Chinese Textiles Han to Tang Dynasties", and so on. 


He expressed his sincerity for invitiing more readers and audience to the book fair, either online or offline, and to follow those wonderful associated events subsquently. Finally, he sent his best wishes to the book exhibition and the first Silk Road Week. 


Yuan Yachun, editor-in-chief of Zhejiang University Press said that ZUP hopes to build more smooth relationship with its partners such as China National Silk Museum, Dunhuang Academy, China Academy of West Region Development and others with the help of books. He encourages more people and readers to come to learn about silks, Dunhuang, as well as the Belt and Road Initiative.

The book exhibition is composed of six sections, including the "Splendid Silk", "Art of Dunhuang", "Liangzhu Culture", "Economic Power", "Light of Science and Technology" and "International Cooperation". Audience and readers can subscribe to the introduction of this book exhibition and explore the fair online through digital platforms such as the WeChat, Weibo, Douyin (Chinese version of Tik Tok), and take part in the salons through Tmail and bilibili.
