Railway stations can be found in almost every large city in Zhejiang Province. The three main railway stations are gathered in the provincial capital city of Hangzhou – Hangzhou Railway Station, Hangzhou East Railway Station and Hangzhou South Railway Station. On July 1st 2013, with the reopening of Hangzhou East Railway Station, two important things happened. One was Hangzhou South Railway Station was closed to be rebuilt, and the other was the newly-built Hangzhou East Railway Station took the place of Hangzhou Railway Station as the largest Railway Station in Hangzhou.
