Fanfiction is a trending genre for most of the Chinese young people who are keen on writing online literature. In Zhejiang, Cai Yuankang is a junior student at Zhejiang Fashion Institution of Technology. He now has turned himself into an online popular writer simply by writing fiction. Taking his new work that was launched in February as an example, the total reach of it has exceeded more than 1,776 million people and over 160,000 people have kept his work on their reading lists.

In general, success always means more effort and a much higher determination to be successful. His fiction dream started from the year of 2017. For the next four years, he has finished three novels with more than 4 million words and has reached an annual income of over 100,000 yuan. Compared with traditional or other much more "serious" literature, online fiction can liberate people's minds and can better help to make up the leisure time for people, sometimes especially when they feel boring. The very nature of online fiction - free of style and subject, enables people to freely read through the paragraphs and comment. To write stories online is not difficult. It is to "create your own style and centralize faithful readers" that counts.

In the summer vacation of the year 2017, he made his first try. At that time, Cai decided to start with fanfiction, which is an easier entry towards the fiction world. It was surprising to find that his new book becomes a hit just after it came out, and it has been subscribed tens of thousands per day.

Soon after that, Cai wrote another one. However, this time it didn't work anymore. His new work was then denied by the press editor.

He never gives up until the last minute. He began to create the second novel last summer vacation and had finished more than 1 million words. During the COVID-19 pandemic since February this year, he launched his third novel, which had received more than 1 million reaches as soon as it came out. He now has an annual income of more than 100,000 yuan.
