At 11:00 am of March 14 local time of Italy, at the gate of the warehouse of the government of Piedmont, Turin, a donation ceremony was held for the first batch of emergent rescue materials from Zhejiang for Italy, which included 515,000 facial masks donated by Lishui.

At the site, the overseas compatriots were holding high a publicity banner of “emergent rescue from China for Italy”. The donation ceremony was attended by Song Xuefeng, consul-general of Milan Consulate General, Cai Lei, director of the consulate, Luigi Icardi, the director of the health department of Piedmont District, Mario Raviolo, the principal of the crisis department and overseas Chinese representatives.

The chairman of Piedmont District had been confirmed with infection of COVID-19, and thus had not attended the donation ceremony. He said, he could not attend the ceremony for physical reasons and will publish an article on the media to express gratitude for the donation from Zhejiang. The director of the emergency center of Piedmont District (general command) said on his personal Facebook that “rescue comes from China”.

The ANSA News Agency of Italy thanked local Chinese and over 500 volunteers in its report and thanked the Chinese Embassy in Italy and Consulate General in Milan. The report said Chinese people had donated medical materials to Piedmont District, including facial masks, protective goggles, and suits. The donation ceremony was attended by Luigi Icardi, the director of the health department of Piedmont and Mario Raviolo, the principal of the crisis department. These materials were gathered in Zhejiang and now have been distributed.

皮埃蒙特大区主席因确诊感染了新冠病毒肺炎，未能出席捐赠仪式，他表示，因身体原因不能参加此次活动，将在媒体上发文对浙江捐赠行为表示感谢。大区应急中心主任（总指挥）在个人脸书上说“拯救来自中国”。

意大利通讯社安莎社在报道中，感谢当地华人和500多志愿者！感谢驻意大利大使馆、驻米兰总领馆！报道说，华人向皮埃蒙特大区捐赠医疗防护物资，包括口罩，护目镜和防护服。皮埃蒙特大区卫生厅厅长路易吉·伊卡迪（Luigi Icardi）和危机部门负责人马里奥·拉维奥洛（Mario Raviolo）出席捐赠仪式。这些物资都是在浙江筹集，现已经在分发。
