Some in China are helping medical experts share their experience with other hard-hit countries. A non-governmental group has been translating health information into Persian.

The outbreak of coronavirus continues in Iran, worrying many Iranians in China, including Bai Mei and her husband. Bai is a doctoral student at the Beijing Language and Culture University, while her husband is a businessman.

They are now part of a Chinese-led online group that's translating COVID-19 health information from Chinese into Persian. They hope the move will allow more Iranians to understand how they can better protect themselves against the coronavirus.

BAI MEI Doctoral Student, Beijing Language, and Culture University "China's information is more reliable than others because of our own experience."

The online group has nearly 300 volunteers from all over the world. Members are divided into groups where they take on different tasks such as translation, graphics creation or video editing.

Since its establishment on Feb. 24th, the group has produced short videos with Persian subtitles on how to undertake protective measures.

Even though many of them have to work during the day, they make it a point to update at least once a day.

BAI MEI Doctoral Student, Beijing Language and Culture University "I can't go out now, so I can't do other things to help others. But through translation and exchange of knowledge, I can contribute a little. Even though it's only a modest role, I don't want to give it up."

Bai said she's received feedback that the videos are easy for ordinary people to understand and have quickly gained popularity among her Iranian friends.

Like her family and friends, she's staying home as much as possible, confident that people around the world will eventually win the battle against the epidemic.
