The year of 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China. In order to introduce the Chinese practice of development to the rest of the world and contribute case studies to the global governance and development, Zhejiang University Press has actively planned and soon launched a series of books entitled Interpreting Zhejiang's Development: Cultural and Social Perspectives. 

Zhejiang is one of the vibrant hubs of China in terms of economy, social governance and innovation. The practices of Zhejiang Province is helpful for world audiences to approach China. This series of books consists of six volumes, including China's Regional Economic Development: A Case Study of Wenzhou, Rural Reform and Development: A Case Study of China's Zhejiang Province, Change of China's Rural Community: A Case Study of Zhejiang's Jianshanxia, Interpreting Zhejiang's Development: Cultural and Social Perspectives, Political Participation and Institutional Innovation: A Case Study of Zhejiang and The Belt and Road Initiative and the World's Largest Small Commodity Market: Yiwu Business Circle.
