At 4:28 p.m. on November 19th, the X8410 international cargo trains loaded with 100 standard boxes of Wenzhou export goods were dispatched from West Station of Yiwu to Moscow. The “Yiwu-Wenzhou-Europe” Central European Train (Yiwu-Moscow) opened today. It is expected to arrive in Moscow in 12 days.

As a “the capital of private enterprises in China”, Wenzhou, famous for its “Wenzhou mode”, has the characteristics of small commodity and big market, small product and large industry, and small capital and large gathering. With the implementation of the manufacturing market strategy, the city is moving toward the transformation and upgrading of urban economy. Since the beginning of Wenzhou Opening-up Conference in August 2018, Wenzhou has launched a series of policies to dock the Yiwu-Europe-China train. In the same year, the export through Yiwu Railway Port was valued 610 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 61%. According to Wenzhou Customs data, from January to September this year, Wenzhou exported 2.2 billion yuan of goods through railways, a substantial increase of 42% year-on-year, and its development potential is huge.

At present, the Central European trains originating from Yiwu have had 11 routes, setting the ‘eight extremes’ in the national railways in China and Europe, said Zhu Leijun, director of Yiwu Business Department of Jinhua Cargo Center.

They are the most routes of transmission and direction (11), the most frequent change of railways (3 times), the largest number of countries passed by (8), the highest load rate (up to 100%), the fastest growth rate (nearly doubled), attracting the largest number of provinces and cities (8), the largest varieties of goods (nearly 2000), and covering the largest number of countries (more than 50 countries and regions around the world).
