There is a class at Zhejiang University, which have created 128 start-up companies with a total market capitalization of 100 billion yuan. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the class. It is an intensive class on innovation and entrepreneurship management in the Chu Kochen Honors College of Zhejiang University.


Founded in 1999, the intensive class pioneered the entrepreneurial education model based on innovation, established its reputation as "China’s best class for entrepreneurship", cultivated more than 200 entrepreneurial pioneers and a large-scale of unicorns-to-be and new economic ventures, becoming a new force for innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.


80% of the enterprises born in the intensive class have been founded in Zhejiang Province, and they are a new force that has grown up in the fertile land of innovation and entrepreneurship in Zhejiang Province. According to incomplete statistics, more than 200 graduates have embarked on the road to entrepreneurship, and 128 start-up companies were born from the class, with a total market capitalization of 100 billion yuan. The entrepreneurship rate of students of the class is more than 20% after five years of graduation. Some classes, such as Class 2004, have an entrepreneurship rate of 41.6%, which is much higher than other domestic colleges and universities. The class is known as "China’s best class for entrepreneurship".


In the past year, four companies founded and led by its alumni have been listed on the Second Board Market, STAR Market, NASDAQ and the Hong Kong Main Board Market. Moreover, they also created 12 unicorn-to-be enterprises, and over 40 new economic entrepreneurial enterprises that have been awarded A-round and above financing.
