On October 17, Zhejiang Yangtze River Delta Bio-pharmaceutical International Cooperation Industrial Park was officially opened. Located in Xiaoshan economy and technology development zone, the park is established on the basis of the core industry of biological medicine and focuses on introducing and cultivating over 60 R&D and industrialization projects of such fields as innovative preparations, medical apparatus, precision medicine, medical test and healthcare.

On that day, Zhejiang Provincial Food and Drug Administration, Xiaoshan district and Zhejiang Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Institute Hangzhou branch signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Co-building Life Health Science and Technology Highland, which was a move to respond to and implement the appeal of the provincial CPC committee and government for accelerating the innovation and development of life health science and technology.

The industrial park consists of an incubator and an accelerator. The incubator will serve functions such as R&D offices of biological medicine, intelligent medicine and supporting services. The accelerator will serve the construction of bio-medicine laboratory, innovation of drugs, demands for industrialization space and construction of professional public platform for the incubator.

In the next step, depending on professional advantages of Zhejiang Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Institute, the industrial park will put an equal stress on investment attraction and services, highlight the importance of services, create an excellent ecological environment for business development and accelerate the building of a highland for the clustering of bio-pharmaceutical industry.

On that day, an Entrepreneurship and Innovation Park of Overseas Students was also inaugurated at the site, which will promote the settlement and development of high-tech talents from home and abroad and infuse an impetus to the high-quality development of Zhejiang, depending on the industrial park’s industrial support and governmental service advantages and the overseas Chinese affairs resource advantages of the provincial overseas Chinese federation.
