On the afternoon of September 29th, Zhejiang Branch of China Mobile (hereinafter referred to as Zhejiang Mobile) launched the world's first autonomous and controllable 5G independent networking (SA) cloud network with Huawei, and made the first 5G VoNR call based on this network environment.

"After eight months of efforts, we have made an important breakthrough in 5G network technology innovation with Huawei and other industrial chain partners." Zheng Jie, General Manager of Zhejiang Mobile, said that compared with 4G era the autonomous and controllable 5G SA cloud network can guarantee the 5G network service with very large bandwidth, ultra-low delay and massive link; provide a higher level of network security; fully meet the requirements of high safety and reliability of government, electric power, finance and other industries; and form a new generation of 5G cloud communication infrastructure combined with network slicing and edge computing technology.

Zhejiang has always been leading in terms of development of 5G. This time, the first autonomous and controllable 5G independent networking (SA) cloud network was born in Zhejiang, consolidating Zhejiang's position as the leader in the first echelon of 5G in China once again. The reporter learned from the relevant responsible person of Zhejiang Mobile that at the beginning of scale experiment of 5G Zhejiang took the lead in opening the world's first 5G base station complying with 3GPP standard and 5G/4G dual-mode base station with the frequency band of 2.6GHz. After more than a year of construction and test, Zhejiang Mobile has achieved 5G coverage in the main urban areas and main science and innovation parks of Hangzhou of more than 1,300 square kilometers. Ningbo, Wenzhou and Jiaxing can also achieve 5G coverage in the main urban areas and industrial parks of science and innovation by the end of the year. The large-scale construction of the mobile 5G network in the whole province is actively advancing.

"In Zhejiang, as an operator, Zhejiang Mobile has 13,000 customers experiencing 5G with 5G terminals." He said.
