International students experience traditional customs of Dragon Boat Festival

This Friday marks the Dragon Boat Festival 2019, also known as the Duanwu Festival in China. It is a traditional and meaningful celebration, which falls on the fifth day of the fifth month on the Chinese lunar calendar. 

 

On June 1, more than 10 international students from Zhejiang Ocean University came to the Hungarian International Square in Dinghai District, Zhoushan City, to experience the traditional customs of Dragon Boat Festival.

 

Together, they made zong zi, a pyramid-shaped glutinous rice dumpling wrapped in reed leaves, made perfume pouch and drew with realgar on the forehead to celebrate the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival.
