According to the reporting of several media of Hong Kong, Joshua Wong Chi-fung, a Hong Kong secessionist was arrested around at 7:30 am on the way to the South Horizons subway station and was escorted to the head office of Wanchai Police Station. It was reported that he was arrested on three charges.

Known as “a successor of Hong Kong secession”, Joshua Wong was born in 1996, who had ever been involved in incidents such as the illegal “Occupy Central” in 2014. In 2016, he established an organization of Hong Kong separatists with other guys such as Nathan Law Kwun-chung. The organization’s guideline included contents such as supporting Hong Kong to “determine its future on its own”.

According to the report of Ta Kung Pao of Hong Kong, in August 2019, Joshua Wong and Nathan Law and others were exposed to have a secret meeting with American staffs in Hong Kong and they admitted the fact when asked. On August 6, Nathan Law and other guys communicated with the American consulate in Hong Kong on contents such as an attempt to restrain the Hong Kong Bill of Human Rights and Democracy and whether America would export equipment to the Hong Kong Police or not.

On August 17, 2017, the Hong Kong High Court reached a verdict on the main participants in the illegal “Occupying Central” including Joshua Wong, which sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment.
