Zhang Xiaoming, deputy director of China's Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, says that the national security law for Hong Kong is meant to strengthen, not undermine, the "one country, two systems" principle. Regarding the "destructive forces", Mr. Zhang said, the new law was enlarging the space for the one country, two systems principle. He said that the stronger the commitment to national security, the more space there would be for the principle of "One Country, Two Systems".
