At 4 o'clock on Oct. 1, scores of violent protesters assaulted police officers on a large scale in Tsuen Wan. Police issued warnings but rioters did not stop their violent attacts. The lives of police officers at the scene were seriously threatened. Therefore, to save the lives of his colleagues and himself, an officer shot a protester near the left shoulder. He was then taken to the hospital immediately.
