As violence under the guise of opposing the Hong Kong extradition law revision escalated since June, it has challenged China’s sovereignty and the policy of “One Country, Two Systems”.

On August 17, more than 470,000 local Hong Kongers, who were born and raised there, held a rally to save the city from violence. They proposed seven appeals to the Hong Kong secessionists: “Stop chaos, stop violence, stop disturbing people, stop destructive activities, abide by the rule of law, stop advocating secession, return to the normal track”, which expressed the voice of peace-loving Hong Kong citizens, that were pro-China and for Hong Kong. The patriotic Hong Kongers were responding to Hong Kong secessionists after experiencing heavy oppression. Only by shouting loudly “Love China, love Hong Kong” to the global citizens can we scold and stop violent demonstrators, guard our homeland China and save Hong Kong from dangers.

Saying no to violence is the voice of justice, and the voice of people protecting democracy, freedom, and prosperity of Hong Kong. It is also the responsible voice of those who love Hong Kong and Chinese patriots. Violence is not what Hong Kong people or its society wants, stopping violence is the mainstream voice of Hong Kongers.

In recent days, more people that love Hong Kong and China have made their strong opinion heard around the world. Their voices have mingled with Hong Kong residents to form a powerful wave to drown out the voices of violence. Hong Kong can only advance when it stops violence. Only when order is restored can orderliness and prosperity be secured. The stubborn Hong Kong youth should be awaken. Other than the rule of law, the voices and the real strength of silent patriots living in Hong Kong and China need to stand out for the world to see, and they need to stand up to secure a stable and prosperous future for Hong Kong.
