With meandering rivers, wooded hills and shimmering lakes, Hangzhou is often described as a natural traditional Chinese painting. Serving as the settlement of Liangzhu culture and the capital of two kingdoms, Hangzhou is of great historical and cultural importance and well-known as ‘the Area of Rich Cultural Heritages’. Located in the subtropical zone with four distinctive seasons, Hangzhou is blessed with a favorable climate, fertile land and rich resources which earned it the title‘the Land of Fish and Rice’. Thanks to its time-honored association with silk and tea production the city is also praised as ‘the Home of Silk and Tea’.

After 2,000 years of preservation, development and construction, Hangzhou has been enhanced by its scenic and cultural beauty, and it has bloomed into the political and economic center of the south-east coastal area. In short this is a world-famous scenic tourist resort with a national cultural and historical city.
