The first scene of the light show is National Features. With the presentation of each attending country and their typical elements such as national flowers, we can appreciate the exotic aura of the CEECs. The second scene is Maritime Silk Road where the mascots “Hai Wa” and “Tuo Wa” shuttle in the sound of camel rings and ocean waves, highlighting Chinese characteristics of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-century Maritime Silk Road, and the Expo’s concept of opening up, innovation, and common development as well. The third scene is Connectivity, where two 3D globes, red and blue, keep rotating, then comes the logo of China-Central and Eastern European Countries CEEC Expo & International Consumer Fair, and the 21st China Zhejiang Investment and Trade Symposium. The scene symbolizes the close tie and endless opportunities for economic cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and the CEECs in the trend of economic globalization.

Through elements such as trade routes, the oceans, trains, and ports, the light show exhibits the landscape of the Belt and Road Initiative, the rapid trade development and friendly exchanges between China and the CEECs. It also plays a themed animation of Ningbo City to show the beauty of an Eastern metropolis to the world: Huge containers are piled up, and vessels are ready to set sail, which shows the prosperity of this important trading port. The ancient bamboo slips are unfolded slowly, showing that Ningbo is a city steeped in history and culture.
