Today, we are going to introduce China National Silk Museum.

 Located at the southern bank of West Lake, China National Silk Museum is the first national silk museum and also the largest silk museum in the world, covering an area of 10,000 square meters. It opened to the public in 1992 and has opened for free since 2004.

Composed of eight exhibition halls, the museum aims to show the history and development of Chinese silk from the Neolithic Age to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911AD), with some modern products also exhibited. Additionally, artifacts from the 
ancient Silk Road are presented.

The museum is a perfect combination of culture, tourism and trade. Equipped with modern facilities, free booklets and audio-visual guides, the China National Silk Museum demonstrates vividly the silk production to visitors. Besides, there are a number of silk goods for visitors in the souvenir store of the museum.
